Today has been a good day. It’s memorial day weekend so church attendance was low. Now we’re home and just relaxing. The race is on. Mike is napping. The 3 littles are playing outside. Adam is reading quietly. It’s a very nice afternoon. It’s nice to just be still, and quiet.
I’ve had a lot on my mind lately. This past few months have been such a rollercoaster. Not really anything major going on, just a feeling of uncertainty. Mike’s job is very stressful. Church takes a lot, but doesn’t give much. He pours himself into it, and people are just…people. It gets discouraging after awhile though.
I’m learning so much about just being quiet and spending time with the Lord. Just listening. Not asking for anything, just listening. Wondering what I can do that will bring him glory. It seems anything I try on my own always falls very short. I need to just listen, and let him lead. I’m excited to see where he’s taking me, and my family.

11 years ago today at 3:21 pm I gave birth to my firstborn. He is the only one of my children that wasn’t born by c-section. His delivery was so difficult. I was very sick with pre-eclampsia and really don’t remember lots of it. It was probably the most traumatic event that had happened to me at that point in my life but he was oh so worth it.
He’s been through a lot in his 11 years. It was one month after his fourth birthday that we got his leukemia diagnosis. He had been sick for months. He was in the most intense pain and spent most of his days just struggling to walk. It was almost a relief to know it was cancer because at least we had an anwser to what was going on. His pediatrician had made me feel like an idiot numerous times. I was glad to know that I wasn’t crazy and he really needed help.
Fast forward 7 years! He’s an intelligent, caring, compassionate young man. He says he has a call to missions on his life. I am looking forward to the future and what God has in mind for him. I know he’s going to do FANTASTIC things for the world.
Happy Birthday Adam!

I decided to try out WordPress. It seems to be easy to use.
Today has been a good day. Nothing to exciting happening. Preparing for Bible Study tonight. We are studying a book by Elizabeth George called “A Woman’s Walk With God, Growing in the Fruit of the Spirit”. So far I am really enjoying it. Tonight’s “fruit” is Joy. I’m excited to see what the other ladies take from it. I know it has really spoken to me.
The past two mornings I have done so well. I have gotten up before the rest of the family and had some time to spend alone, in prayer, preparing myself for the day ahead. It has made such a huge difference. I REALLY need to make it a habit. I think Mike would agree, seeing as he as also gotten a hot breakfast before work both days. LOL!
